About Me

tim brownTim's sailing experience started in a Sabot at the tender age of 8. Under the guidance of Yachting guru Frank Bethwaite, Tim progressed through the ranks of the Flying Ant, Cherub, N.S.14 and Laser dinghy classes. Yachting experience came firstly with Trailerable Yachts followed by races up and down the East Coast of Australia and more relaxing Multihull Cruising.

Tim has represented Australia overseas in Teams events and more recently the 2011 IOM World Titles in the U.K. Tim is a qualified Shipwright serving his time in traditional timber yacht building, progressing to composite construction alongside some of Australia's most esteemed Boat builders. For a time owned Salamander Yachts and more recently was head of R&D at Kevlacat Power Boats Aus.

Tim first discovered R.C. Yachting while a spectator at the 2005 IOM World Titles at Mooloolaba. Early retirement due to a work related injury allows time now to continue the passion of excellence in Boatbuilding (be it now on a smaller scale). Enjoy the Ride.
